My achievements

I have worked my way up from the very beginning and built everything step by step. Life has not always been easy, and I have faced some very difficult times along the way, but those experiences have helped shape me into the person I am today. Building a business has been incredibly challenging, I always knew it would take hard work, but I never realised just how tough the journey would be at times.

School was not where I excelled academically, and I only achieved two C grades, but I never allowed that to define me or hold me back. I was determined to succeed and follow my passion. When I first decided to create my own tumble academy, which later became GymForce, I invested £500 of my own savings to get started. That money went towards creating the GymForce name, building the website, arranging insurance, printing leaflets, and ordering the very first t-shirts, all the small beginnings of what would eventually grow into the club it is today.

Why Gym Force?

I truly believe that having a sport I loved so much helped shape me into the person I am today. Gymnastics taught me confidence, motivation, determination, and ambition, and those qualities have stayed with me throughout my adult life. It gave me focus, life skills, and a sense of purpose, and I would love for more children to have the opportunity to experience that through sport.

At GymForce, we believe we have so much to offer. Even as a growing club, we pride ourselves on knowing every child and family who walks through our doors, which is something we are regularly complimented on. For us, GymForce is more than just a gymnastics club — it is a supportive community where every athlete matters. We make time for each gymnast and their parents, creating a welcoming and personal environment that many larger clubs can sometimes lose. I will always continue adding those personal touches and building a club where families feel valued, supported, and part of something special

The Start of the journey...

I started gymnastics at the age of three and instantly fell in love with the sport, especially floor work. Tumbling was always my favourite part, and as I got older, I trained more hours and worked my way up to club level. Having gymnastics in my life gave me focus, structure, and something positive to work towards while some of my friendship group were going down different paths.

School was never really where I thrived — reading and writing were not my strengths, and I always preferred being active and hands-on. From a young age, I knew I wanted a future in sport and coaching. I started coaching at 14 as a young leader, and I loved being able to work in a sport I was passionate about while also earning and saving money towards my first car.

I was awarded my first British Gymnastics qualifications at 15, and as soon as I could drive, I began teaching gymnastics in schools at the age of 17

From that point, my passion for coaching only continued to grow. I loved seeing the children’s smiles, watching their confidence improve, and seeing how much enjoyment they got from learning gymnastics. It made me realise that I wanted to create something of my own — my own club and eventually my own facility. I had big ambitions and was determined to make them happen.

In 2016, I founded GymForce at my sister’s cheerleading unit, initially running tumbling classes which later developed into recreational gymnastics sessions. As the club grew, so did my vision for the business. I wanted to offer more classes, more opportunities, and invest in better equipment, but it became clear that the current space could no longer support those goals. I knew that if GymForce was going to continue growing, I needed to find a facility of our own. I took time searching for the right place because I knew it was an important step that couldn’t be rushed.

As the club continued to grow, more and more parents began asking whether I would expand into club, level gymnastics rather than staying solely recreational. There was a real demand for GymForce to take the next step, and I knew the club was ready to grow further.

In 2020, I found the perfect building directly opposite my sister’s cheerleading unit. It was an ideal location, already well known within the community, and situated on a popular bus route, making gymnastics more accessible for families who may not be able to drive.

My sister and I have always had a great relationship, and moving nearby meant I could continue growing my business while still staying close to family. We have always supported each other and definitely never saw ourselves as rivals.

In January 2021, I finally got the keys to what would become GymForce’s new home and biggest adventure yet. The building needed a huge amount of work, complete rewiring, plumbing, plastering, painting, flooring, removing the mezzanine, knocking down walls, and much more before I could even think about installing gymnastics equipment. I knew it would be a massive challenge, but I also knew I was determined to make it happen. Over the next nine months, I invested everything I had into transforming the space and taking the biggest risk of my life to create something special. Although I already had some equipment, I wanted GymForce to offer the very best environment possible, which meant investing in high-quality equipment from some of the best gymnastics suppliers in the world.
